Juanita Levi had as her guest Laura Bell Page of Canton. • Progress was being made in building the Dilworth warehouse.

90 YEARS AGO: 1934

Mary Leslie Newton addressed the Business and Professional Women’s Club. • Mrs. Charlotte H. Smith died. 

80 YEARS AGO: 1944

A son was born to Lt. Col. and Mrs. C.H. Mackey.  

70 YEARS AGO: 1954

Edward Washington passed away. • Larry D. Cockrell died. • Mr. and Mrs. Richard Farrior announced the birth of a daughter, Aubrey Yvonne, on Nov. 20. 

60 YEARS AGO: 1964

Mr. and Mrs. John Bodie of Rolling Fork announced the birth of a daughter, Shona, on Nov. 17.

50 YEARS AGO: 1974

A double funeral was held for two brothers, William “Bill” Smith – who died in a house fire, and Locklyn Smith – who died two hours later in a car accident. 

40 YEARS AGO: 1984

Vivian Jones Sandes died. • Orlando J. Shorter was six years old. • Pamela Bull won $2,000 in Kroger’s Cost Cutter Bingo. 

30 YEARS AGO: 1994

Seven officers and firefighters objected to the drug-testing policy provision that allowed city personnel to continue to work while in an outpatient treatment program. 

20 YEARS AGO: 2004

River Region Health System was working to get the word out that flu shots were again readily available in Warren County. 

10 YEARS AGO: 2014

NRoute was considering adding a stop at Good Shepherd Community Center.
