Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said this week that a call his office originally responded to as a medical emergency has since been ruled a homicide, and the victim’s son has been charged with murder.
Pace said deputies responded to a home in the 900 block of Culkin Road Oct. 29 at approximately 3:30 a.m., where 74-year-old Charles Lee White was found deceased.
Pace said the Warren County Coroner’s office found inconsistencies with the scene that led to a request for an autopsy to the state medical examiner’s office.
Pace said that, while he could not yet release all details of the investigation, information from the medical examiner’s office has led to the classification of the death as a homicide, as well as to the arrest of the victim’s son, 43-year-old Charles Dudley White.
White was arrested Monday and appeared later in the day in Warren County Justice Court, where he was formally charged with murder and has been held without bond.
This is a developing story. Pace said more information will be made available in the coming days.
