The annual U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Under the Lights Christmas event kicked off its eighth drive-thru light show Thursday at the ERDC on Halls Ferry Road.

The event doubles as a celebration of the holidays and a community food drive, with donations going to local food pantries and Good Shepherd Community Center. Last year, nearly 7,500 pounds of food was collected and donated to Vicksburg’s Storehouse Community Food Pantry, ERDC officials said. 

This year’s two-day event wrapped up Friday night.
