The Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) is searching for a man wanted for aggravated assault in connection with a shooting Tuesday morning at the Fastway service station at the corner of Clay and Cherry streets.

VPD Chief of Police Penny Jones said 20-year-old Rashad Williams is believed to have fired a weapon at another individual inside the gas station following a dispute just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim has not been identified, but VPD did confirm an individual was taken by ambulance for treatment at a local hospital. Witnesses on the scene Tuesday morning said they saw a Black male loaded into an ambulance after hearing as many as 10 gunshots come from inside the store.
