St. Al piles up the goals in win over ACCS

St. Aloysius’ boys’ soccer team started 2025 with a flurry of goals and a victory.

Corbin Burroughs had a goal and three assists, and John Ellis Montgomery scored twice as St. Al beat Adams County Christian School 6-3 on Tuesday.

Carter Smithhart and Eli Shiers also scored one goal each, and Clay Pierce was credited with another on an own goal that hit off an ACCS defender before going into the net.

Dalton Windham had two assists.

St. Al’s home game against Brookhaven Academy, scheduled for Thursday, was canceled because of rain. The Flashes will get back on the field Saturday when they host a 16-team, day-long tournament at Key City Park.

St. Al will play two games, at 10 a.m. against Manchester Academy and at 11:30 vs. Oak Forest Academy.

St. Al will also play a pivotal district game on Jan. 16 at Bayou Academy.
