The Flashes (9-2-1) picked up a pivotal victory in their pursuit of a berth in the MAIS Division II boys’ soccer playoffs.
The top two teams from the three-team West Division — St. Al, Bayou or Pillow Academy — will qualify. St. Al’s win Thursday means it only needs to beat Bayou in the rematch Jan. 27 in Vicksburg to clinch a spot.

St. Al will also play Pillow Academy Monday at home, at 1 p.m. The game was moved up from later in the day because of cold weather and the threat of snow.
