Funeral services for Hazel Beartrice Brown Erwin are to be held Saturday, Feb. 1, in the Greater Grove Street M. B. Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Johnnie L. Williams officiating; interment shall follow in the  Locust Grove Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 31, in the funeral home from  5 to 7 p.m.

Hazel Beatrice Brown Erwin, a Vicksburg resident, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 92. She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Zion No. 1 M. B. Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, Joe Brown Sr. and Indiana Collins Brown Paulding; her brothers, Arthur Brown, Joe Brown Jr. and James Brown; her sisters, Julia Brown Prentiss, Margaret Brown Neal, Agnes Brown Carter, Mary Brown Banks, and Martha Lee Brown Banks; and her husband, Eugene Erwin Sr.

She is survived by her sons, Roosevelt E. Brown Sr., Joseph Nelson Brown Sr., Eugene Erwin Jr., Erwin Sr., Walter Earl Erwin, David Darnell Erwin, and Douglas Wayne Erwin Sr.; her daughters, Cheryl Brown, Faye Ann Carson, Betty Louise Erwin and Mary Catherine Erwin; her sister, Ethel Miller Davis; 30 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
