MALTB, Warren County Sheriff’s Office track down stolen skid steer

JACKSON — The Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau announced it has recovered a skid steer that was stolen out of Warren County.
MALTB said the stolen Bobcat T870 skid steer was reported stolen on Wednesday. Working in conjunction with the Hinds County and Warren County Sheriff’s Offices, the skid steer was located and recovered in a wooded area in rural Hinds County the next day.
“I appreciate the continued partnership and support we receive from local law enforcement organizations around the state, and I want to thank the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office and Warren County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance on this case,” MALTB Director Dean Barnard said in a statement.
The Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau, the law enforcement division of the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, enforces state laws pertaining to the theft of animals, farm equipment, chemicals, timber and all other farm or agriculture-related crimes.
Also this week, MALTB announced it had recovered a Piper Archer II airplane that was stolen from the Indianola Airport in Sunflower County in December.
On Jan. 17, a stolen Corvette was stopped by the Madison Police Department for a traffic violation. Based on information gathered from the stolen corvette, investigators were led to the city of Jemison, in Chilton County, Alabama, where they located and recovered the airplane. Jemison is located about 50 miles south of Birmingham.
